Jannik Sinner is one of the most interesting players who will join the main draw of the upcoming LTA’s cinch Championships staged at the prestigious The Queen’s Club. Jannik will be part of an interesting line-up with the presence of Denis Shapovalov, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka.
Jannik commented:
“I’m really excited to be competing at Queens for the first time. So many great players from the past have won the tournament, I heard the quality of the grass courts is incredible, and I can’t wait to play on them.”
The tournament director Luiz Carvalho also secured the presence of Matteo Berrettini to comment:
To add new players like Matteo and Jannik to our player field is really exciting, and I know our ticket-holders will enjoy watching them. With so many fan-favourites also entering, we are looking forward to the start of the cinch Championships more than ever.”
The tournament will be staged from the 14th of June and the defending champion is Feliciano Lopez. The event wasn’t played in 2020 because of the global pandemic.
Sinner in Lyon, ranking, and results in 2021
Currently the world no.17 (career-high), Jannik achieved a compiled 21-9 win-loss record in 2021. Sinner is participating in Lyon where he defeated Aslan Karatsev 0-6 6-3 6-4.
Jannik Sinner will play the world no.125 Arthur Rinderknech in the 2nd round on Thursday at 8:30 pm on COURT CENTRAL. In the past, they have never competed against each other until now in top events.
Sinner has won 1 title in 2021 in Melbourne. Jannik reached the final in Miami (Miami Open).
Denis Shapovalov in 2021
Ranked world no.15, Shapovalov played his last match on the 13th of May when he lost to world no.3 Rafael Nadal 3-6 6-4 7-6(3) in the 3rd round in Rome (draw).
At present, during this year the Canadian has achieved a 11-10 record. Denis Shapovalov’s best result of the year was getting to the semifinal in Dubai.
Jannik Sinner and Denis Shapovalov squared off just on 1 occasion. Their actual record is 1-0 for Shapovalov. When they played, Denis Shapovalov won 3-6 6-3 6-2 4-6 6-4 in the 1st round in Melbourne (Australian Open) on the 8th of February 2021.

Andy Murray in 2021
Ranked world no.124, Andy played his last match on the 3rd of March when he lost to world no.7 Andrey Rublev 7-5 6-2 in the 2nd round in Rotterdam (draw).
Currently, during this season Andy has a 5-3 match record. Andy Murray’s most significant performance of the year was getting to the final in the Biella 1 Challenger.
Stan Wawrinka in 2021
At the moment ranked no.24, the Swiss played his last match on the 9th of March when he lost to world no.51 Harris Lloyd 7-6(3) 6-7(6) 7-5 in the 1st round in Doha (draw).
At the moment, during this season Stan has a 3-3 match record.
Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka played each other 21 times. The head to head is 12-9 for Murray. Previously, the last time when they fought against each other, Stan Wawrinka won 6-1 6-3 6-2 in the 1st round in Paris (French Open) in September 2020.
