Amanda Anisimova has been facing a lot of adversity in the last couple of years. The American sensation was widely considered one of the hot prospects in tennis, especially after she reached the semifinals at the 2019 Roland Garros.

Everyone was excited about Amanda, especially ahead of the following US Open. Unfortunately, Anisimova had to cope with the horrible heartbreak of losing her father and longtime coach when he suddenly died just before the American major.

It took some time for Amanda to recover psychologically and she also had to cope with the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. The American was extremely unlucky to test positive for the Coronavirus just before the Australian Open when she tested positive so as to miss the full Australian summer.

Talking about that experience, Amanda commented:

“Oh, my gosh, I was just super shocked. I found out in the middle of the night. It was just really upsetting, especially considering I was out of the country. Most importantly, I was scared that my sister and my mom would get it because I was close to them.

But after the first couple of days, I realized that being in quarantine wasn’t the worst thing, because I was worried about the health of my family. Now that it’s over, I’m just so happy.”
