Stefanos Tsitsipas lost a heartbreaking match against Novak Djokovic in Rome. The Greek sensation was always in control of the encounter leading the Serbian champion in every single set by a break. Tsitsipas also had the opportunity to serve out the match when he was leading in the deciding set, but he was broken to drop the last 3 games and lose 4-6 7-5 7-5.
The match against the Serbian sensation was extremely tough also because it was stopped and postponed to the next day at the beginning of the second set because of the rain.
Stefanos is currently in Lyon, where he is about to play the local ATP 250. The world number 5 admitted that it was very tough for him to digest the defeat against Novak. He also conceded that he had some issues sleeping during the night after the match was postponed to the next day.
“It was hard to deal with it two days in a row, especially going to sleep that night. There’s a lot of adrenaline. It would probably have been different playing in the rain. It doesn’t matter, the situation was the way it was, you can’t change it,” said Stefanos.
Stefanos will face Tommy Paul in his first match in Lyon. The head to head is 1-0 for the Greek.
