Too good! Serena is just too good!
The world no.1 conceded only 3 games to Na Li to roll in the final in New York. Serena started the match in “mauling fashion” bagelling Na Li (6-0) in the first set.
The second set was a bit different. Na Li got on the scoreboard after 40 minutes and there was a little.. little blip from Serena that lost a service game (the second of the tournament!!!) to find herself 1-2 40-0 down. That was a topical moment of the match and the Chinese chocked not to be able to win her service game to lose 4 straight games. That was 5-2 for Serena and game over… bye bye… the American won the second set 6-3.
At the end of the match Serena fired 4 aces (1 double fault) while Na Li wasn’t able to blaste any ace committing 4 double faults. Serena scored 19 winners (20 unforced errors) and Na Li fired only 8 winners vs. 24 unforced errors
Serena now leads Na Li 9-1 in head to head matches. Serena lost only 16 games in the entire tournament… ouch!

After the match the world no.1 commented “It was a good match. Li Na is such a great player. I got a little nervous but I was able to close it out, finally. It’s great just to get to another final,”
Na Li: the problem is myself
The Chinese wasn’t as happy with her performance especially after squandering the 2-1 40-0 lead in the second set to comment “Today it doesn’t matter who is the opponent. The problem is myself. Even if today I was playing against maybe the player ranked 100, still the same problem.”
The final vs. Azarenka
Serena will play Vika in the final. Head to head is 12-3 for Serena, but Vika has won the last 2 matches on hard courts. The favourite? Serena…but do not trust the Belarus, she can make it!
