Paes and Stepanek end the Bryans bet for the Grand Slam

Tough luck for the Bryans!

The all nation was waiting and hoping for the flying brothers to win a historical Grand Slam (winning all Slams titles in the same season) , but that didn’t really happen… and that was just two matches away.

The Americans were stopped by a good performance from Paes and Stepanek that won the semifinal in 3 sets.

Bob: Those guys played a great match

Bob Bryan was disappointed by the loss, but once again he showed his great sportsmanship to comment “As competitors we hate to lose, and we knew what was riding on this match and the opportunity of what we could have accomplished.

In one sense it’s a little bit of a relief where you get to kind of exhale for the first time in a few months. All of this Grand Slam talk has been in the back of our head, and it’s been an honour to be a part of this run with Mike. It’s been a great 12 months.

Those guys played a great match and we wish them luck in the finals.”

Radek and Leander will play the final against Peyas and Soares.
