Another good match from Nole that had to fend off a dangerous Youzhny in New York.
The Russian had a very good US Open to defeat many tricky players such as Mahut, Dolgopolov, Haas, an in-form Hewitt. Nole was a bit too much for Youzhny that at least managed to win a set (the third) before being bagelled in the 4th.
Finally the world no.1 managed to break Youzhny 7 times to concede 2 service games. Nole scored 115 points vs. Youzhny’s 87.

Djokovic was overall pleased by his performance. He just had some doubts on his 3rd set “For some reason, I allowed him to come back into the match, started to push the ball, wasbeing more passive and allowing him to step into the court, come to the net,”
