
Naomi Osaka had a tough loss in Madrid where she lost in the 2nd round at the hands of Karolina Muchova 6-4 3-6 6-1. The Japanese sensation is well known for not being extremely comfortable playing on clay courts, especially when comparing her performance on hard courts.
Naomi Osaka was deeply disappointed after losing in Madrid to post a message to her fans saying:
“Caught an L today but beyond happy with how hard I fought and very grateful for the team I have around me. I already know something good is coming for me so I’ll keep putting my head down and working hard. Tomorrow is a new day! Thank you guys for the support.”
Naomi Osaka is often compared to Serena Williams. However, she disclosed the fact that she talks much more with Serena’s sister Venus. Indeed, Venus Williams was prompt in supporting Naomi Osaka commenting on her message and saying: “next one.”

The next step for Naomi Osaka is playing the upcoming tournament in Rome. The surface over there is going to be even slower than the one in Madrid and therefore, Naomi needs to adapt even more to the local conditions. Naomi’s best result in Rome was reaching the quarterfinals in 2019 before retiring ahead over her match against the Kiki Bertens.
