Stefanos Tsitsipas explains what he wants to do in order to improve his tennis and win more titles

Stefanos Tsitsipas About Improvin

Stefanos Tsitsipas is having a fantastic year after he won his maiden ATP 1000 in Monte Carlo and he also reached the final in Barcelona.

In Spain, Stefanos missed a great opportunity in the final against Rafael Nadal. He had 1 Championship point against the King of Clay, but he could not convert it also because he played that point quite passively.

During the press conference that precedes the Madrid Open, Stefanos Tsitsipas elaborated about what he wants to improve after losing that match against Rafael Nadal.

Stefanos commented:

I would like to be more consistent on my serve, play with a high percentage of first serve. I would like to see myself come more to the net and have a higher winning percentage on net points won. Stuff like this is something that I’m aiming for, setting my attention towards these small details that will help me become a more aggressive and more complete player.

Sometimes I feel like I was too passive, thinking about it now. I could have risked a bit more. I could have probably done few more unpredictable things that could have led to something different. That is something that I learned.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will start his run at the Madrid Open against the winner between Benoit Paire and Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Stefanos has played the Madrid Open only twice. The first time he lost in the first round to Donskoy, but on the second occasion, he reached the final after beating Rafael Nadal in the semi-final and before losing to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
