Second application by Dayana Yastremska to lift Provisional Suspension
denied
A second application by Dayana Yastremska to lift the provisional suspension imposed on her on 7 January 2021 under Article 8.3.1(c) of the 2020 Tennis Anti-Doping Programme has been denied by the Chair of the Independent Tribunal convened to hear her case.
This decision was subject to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) by Ms. Yastremska, which she chose to exercise. The CAS has denied that appeal and Ms. Yastremska, therefore, remains ineligible to compete, pending the final resolution of her case.

When Dayana Yastremska will be back to competitions?

It is unclear when Dayana will be able to be back to competitions. What is certain is that she has been experiencing a very tough time. Yastremska was sidelined by this suspension after the tours stopped for almost 1 year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Dayana is still very young (20), but it is quite devastating for an athlete to be halted for a couple of years.

Let’s hope she will be cleared pretty soon.
