Sascha Zverev Injury

Alexander Zverev is about to start his campaign in the ATP 250 in Munich, where he is the home favorite and seed number one.

When taking ahead of the tournament, Sascha revealed that he has been struggling with his right elbow for long. Unfortunately, the German sensation admitted that his serve is still widely affected by the injury.

“Injuries happen in sports. I had one at my elbow. Before the tournament in Monte Carlo, I didn’t play tennis for nearly 3 weeks, but I decided to play there.

In these circumstances, it was decent my match vs Goffin. To beat a good player like him you need more practice. The elbow gets better week by week now. I had a special treatment last Friday. Since then it’s in a good direction.

It still hinders me during serve motion and overheads in general. It has to heal completely and this will take more time. I have to remain careful with serve practice during next weeks.

Serve was also the cause of the injury a bit. After my serve problems since 2019, I practiced serving for hours and hours on a daily basis. So I need a more calm approach now.”
