Unlucky stuff for Serena that had an uncomfortable draw at the Flushing Meadows.
If the world no.1 plays at her best she can’t lose to anybody at the moment, but if she doesn’t she might struggle against strong opponents.
Serena will have to play in the first round Francesca Schiavone (definitely not in her prime), but still a French Open Champion (H2H 5-2 for Serena, 3-0 on hard courts).
In the second round Serena should play Monica Niculescu (first match between these two). In the third round Serena may face fellow American Jamie Hampton (this will also be their first match).

In the quarters Serena should face seed no. 8 Angelique Kerber (H2H is 2-1 for Serena).
Finally Serena was also unlucky to find an in-form Radwanska in the semifinal (H2H is 6-0 for Serena, but Agnieszka is playing one of her best tennis)
