Simona Halep beats Wozniacki to clash with Kvitova in New Haven final.

And voila’, Simona Halep reaches yet another final in 2013.

The young Romanian is definitely one of the most interesting youngsters on tour to get to the final in New Haven.

The world no.21 has already won 3 tournaments in 2013 (Nurnberg, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Budapest) to try to get the 4th one in Yale.

During this week the Romanian had a remarkable run to defeat illustrious names such as Daniela Hantuchova and now Caroline Wozniacki (the 4 time champion).

The match against Caroline lasted 80 minutes with Simona winning 63 points vs. Caroline’s 55.Match Stats.

Halep: It’s my dream to break into the top 20

Simona is now ranked world no.23 and she is expected to climb to world no.21 after this week to comment “I’ll try to do my best to get in top 20, because it’s first step. It’s very hard, I know, but I have to keep going my hard work and to try to be in top 20 as soon as possible. “It’s my dream.”

The final vs. Kvitova

Simona will play Petra Kvitova in the final. The Czech is not having a good year and she has played a not so good tournament in New Haven to have struggled in the first 3 matches with low ranked players to suddenly play a very good tennis in the semifinal (she conceded only 1 game to Zakolapova).

This will be the first match between Simona and Petra.
