Gael if back to another final. The Frenchman is now one step away from winning his 5th career title after reaching the 2nd final of the year (the first was in Nice when he lost to Montanes)

The second set was an easier encounter for Gael that broke Alexandr twice without dropping his serve. Match Stats

Monfils: I am not happy how I played

The world no.47 has some mixed feeling about this match to comment “It’s very good for my confidence. It was good to be down two breaks and to win the set.

But I’m not so happy the way I played today. I think I need to play better. I think my best match I played here was against Tommy, so hopefully tomorrow I will play better and show better tennis.”

The final vs. Melzer.

Gael will play world no. 32 Jurgen Melzer in the final. Head to head is 4-0 for Gael that seems to be the favourite for the title.
