Serena Williams eases into the semifinals in Cincinnati

That was a quick one… well another quick one for Serena.

The world no.1 was really rushing to the victory to win the first set in just 16 minutes conceding only 6 points to Simona Halep!

Then the Romanian managed to have a match in the second set to finally lose 6-0 6-4. Serena fired 6 aces on 8 service games to drop the service once and break Simona 5 times on 8 service games. Match Stats.

Serena: I am surprised I am still here.

The American  is not really happy about her performance in Cincinnati to comment “I definitely haven’t felt good all week, so surprised I’m still in the event, to be honest. It’s not really about how you play at the end…it’s about being able to win, whether you play good or bad.

I was able to so far and be in the semi-finals. So, you know, considering, it’s a good result. I obviously want to do better, and I’ll just see how it goes.”

The Semi vs. Na Li

Serena will play the semifinal vs. Na Li that benefited from a walk over as Agnieszka Radwanska had to withdraw for personal reasons. Head to head is 7-2 for Serena (considering a WO for Na Li).
