Jannik Sinner is only 19 years old and he is well aware that he needs to gain more and more experience to play against the very best of the sport and win the big titles.
However, the young Italian will probably be a top 20 player by the end of this week and he has already reached an ATP 1000 final. Moreover, Jannik Sinner is also ranked number 7 in the so-called year-to-date rankings.
The season is still at the very beginning. However, Jannik’s position in the year-to-date rankings is an indication that the young Italian may have the chance to qualify for the ATP Finals that will be staged in Turin later this year. It’s also worth noticing that Sinner is adding more and more weapons to his artillery and given his age, it is plausible that he will improve much faster than some other established players.
While it is quite likely that some players such as Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas will qualify and play the ATP Finals, there are still 4 or 5 places to be filled (it’s always doubtful if Rafael Nadal will play the Finals even if he qualifies). Therefore, there is no reason not to think that the Jannik can be one of those players filling the “other places.”
