Daniel Evans lost a tough match against Lorenzo Musetti last week in Cagliari when he was not able to convert 4 match points. However, things got much better in Monte Carlo, where the British player defeated the world number 1, Novak Djokovic, with a straight-sets win.
After the match during the press conference, Evans was asked to elaborate about his match against Musetti. The world number 33 had a rather straightforward answer to criticize the Italian for his behavior.
“Last week, he said some things in the Italian press about me that was disrespectful. Musetti, if he apologizes, I will answer. He’s a good tennis player, but he’s got no manners,” said Evans.
“He [Musetti] played very well last week. I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t take the match points. Yeah, it’s just tennis. Yeah, he could do with learning some manners.”
