Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas are the top-seeded players that are still alive in the draw in Monte Carlo after the early exit of Novak Djokovic.
The Serbian sensation lost a tough match against Daniel Evans in the third round in Monte Carlo. The world number 1 didn’t play at his very best also because the Brit was extremely effective with this tennis.
After the match, Novak Djokovic commented:
“To be honest, I mean, this has been probably one of the worst matches and performances from my side I can recall in the last years. I don’t want to take anything away from his win, but from my side, I just felt awful on the court overall. Just nothing worked.
Just one of these things you have to accept. I guess you have to move on. It’s not the first neither the last loss, but definitely it leaves a bitter feeling exiting the court this way.”
Daniel Evans will now face David Goffin for the place in the semi-final. However, now the big favorite in that half of the draw is definitely Stefanos Tsitsipas that will face Davidovich Fokina in the other quarter.
Novak Djokovic in 2021
Now the world no.1, Novak played his last match on the 15th of April when he lost to world no.33 Daniel Evans 6-4 7-5 in the 3rd round in the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters (draw).

Stefanos Tsitsipas will square off with the world no.58 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarter. In the past, they have never competed against each other till now in top events.
The Greek reached the final in Acapulco (Abierto Mexicano Telcel).
