Novak Djokovic is going to be challenged by Jannik Sinner in the second round in Monte Carlo. The word the number 1 didn’t play a single match for the last 6 weeks. Novak got injured to his abdomen while playing at the Australian Open. Therefore, he decided not to compete in the following tournaments in the Middle East and at the Miami Open.
During a recent interview, Novak Djokovic revealed that he trained a lot on clay to try different movements.

Ranked no.1, Novak played his last match on the 21st of February when he beat world no.2 Daniil Medvedev 7-5 6-2 6-2 in the final of the Australian Open to win his 82nd career title.
Currently, during this year Novak has managed to achieve a 9-0 record. Djokovic conquered 1 title at the Australian Open.

At the moment ranked no.22 (career-high), Sinner has a compiled 15-5 win-loss record in 2021. Jannik is playing at the moment in Carlo Rolex Masters where he defeated Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4.
Jannik Sinner will take on the world no.1 Novak Djokovic in the 2nd round on Wednesday at 1:30 pm on COURT RAINIER III. They have never competed against each other up to now in top competitions.
Jannik clinched 1 title in 2021 in Melbourne. The Italian was the runner-up in Miami (Miami Open).
