Shameful Fognini embarrasses himself in Cincinnati

That was shameful and a real disgrace.

We have been admiring Fabio Fognini during this summer. The Italian won 2 back to back tournaments to reach the final in the third one. It seems that he has finally matured… right? Wrong! Very very wrong!

We lost that player and we found this little grumpy child that was upset for a dubious call to throw away his match and completely lack of respect to the crowd.

What happened?

The Italian was 2-6 4-5 down against Radek Stepanek. He started the game with a couple of double faults. After committing the second double fault he smashed the ball out of the court. Because of that he earned a code violation for ball abuse (nothing strange… isn’t it?). The umpire gave to the Italian a penalty point as this was his second code violation of the match.

Then Fognini argued with the umpire that he wasn’t aware he had another code violation. After that he went to serve and he purposively stepped on the line twice to lose the point and the macth.

Fognini went out the court with the crowd booing him and people shouting at him.

Time to grow up little Fabio you are 26 years old…
