Stefanos Tsitsipas will face either Lorenzo Musetti or Aslan Karatsev in the second in Montecarlo. However, the Greek sensation decided to play the doubles with his brother Petros once again after receiving a wild card.
In the recent past, Stefanos seemed to have struggled from a physical point of view when playing singles and doubles, especially after competing in tough matches. However, he maintains that he has been playing doubles with his brother Petros to help him improve his rankings.
The reaction of the fans
Stefanos has a very big fan base that seems not to be impressed when he “wastes” his energy playing doubles. After learning that the world number 5 will side again with Petros in doubles in Monte Carlo, the fans reacted very badly to the news.
Some branded the decision as stupid and some others believe that Stefanos is entangled in family affairs.
Some of these fans have already criticized that Stefanos is helping his brother obtain many wildcards. Here some comments.
“Oh no! It’s really cute but what happened last time…Monte Carlo is such an exciting tournament it is really sweet of Tsitspas to sacrifice his own success for his brother.”
“Again????”
“Well perhaps he should think of himself a bit. His Dad has two sons but only one star…life is like that.”
“Petros needs to display some brotherly love and step away.”
Here some other of the reactions.
