Jannik Sinner got to a new career-high after he reached the final in Miami last week. The Italian sensation is currently ranked the numbers 23 and he is not playing any tournament. Jannik is now in Monte Carlo, where he has been fine-tuning his preparation for the clay-court season.

Despite his inactivity on the tour, Jannik gained one place in the live rankings this week to be the new world number 22. Jannik earned 1 position in the rankings because Christian Garin lost 4 places after dropping 125 points. This is the beauty of the rankings.

Sinner in Monte Carlo

Jannik will play the ATP 1000 in Monte Carlo next week. The favorites are Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. However, the Italian is a very dangerous floater, and he can beat anyone also on clay courts.

Last year, Jannik was the only player that bothered Rafael Nadal at the French Open. The Italian lost in three sets, but he was leading by one break in both the first and the second set. After that match, Rafael Nadal said that he was very lucky to win.
