Amanda Anisimova is well known for being extremely strong when playing on hard court that is the surface that she started to play tennis. However, Amanda has her best results on clay. The American sensation won her first WTA title in Bogota that is played on the dirt and she reached the semifinals at the Roland Garros in 2019.

Amanda will face fellow American Shelby Rogers in the second round. After beating Magdalena in the first round, Amanda was asked why she is has been performed so well on clay courts. The American replied:

“I think it just really suits my game well. I get the extra time on my shots. I actually grew up playing on hard courts so it’s kind of interesting why I like playing on. I just always played well and I’m really excited for this clay season.”
