Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are part of the never-ending argument about who is the GOAT. There are many ways to define who is the greatest. Usually, one of the ways is to refer to the number of slams won. However, according to tennis legend Sania Mirza, talent is a very important aspect to be considered.
During a recent interview, the Indian tennis player commented:
“[Nadal] is definitely the greatest of all time on clay, there’s no doubt about that, but I don’t know if he’s the greatest of all time in terms of just pure talent,” Mirza said.
“I think Roger Federer still takes that. I think anyone that knows even a little bit of tennis knows that. I don’t know if you agree with me or not, but when you watch Roger play tennis, it comes a lot easier to you than it comes from most people in the world.”
Rafael Nadal in Monte Carlo
Rafael Nadal is now getting ready to play in Monte Carlo. It seems that he has completely recovered from the lower back injury that he suffered when he was playing the Australian Open. Nadal has won the tournament in Monte Carlo 11 times.
Federer
Regarding Roger Federer, after losing in Doha, he decided not to play any tournament anymore for the following weeks. He is scheduled to be back to competition on the occasion of the Madrid Open. Roger’s main target is to be fully fit on the occasion of the grass-court season season with the aim of winning yet another title in Wimbledon.

Ranked no.3, Nadal played his last match on the 17th of February when he lost to world no.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-6 2-6 7-6(4) 6-4 7-5 in the quarter of the Australian Open (draw).

Currently the world no.7, Roger played his last match on the 11th of March when he capitulated to world no.37 Nikoloz Basilashvili 3-6 6-1 7-5 in the quarter in Doha (draw).
Currently, during this season Federer has managed to achieve a 1-1 record.
Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer squared off 40 times. Their actual head to head record is 24-16 for Nadal. Previously, the last time they competed against each other, Roger Federer won 7-6(3) 1-6 6-3 6-4 in the semifinal in London (Wimbledon) in July 2019.
