Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is the most interesting prospect in Spanish tennis right now however he needs to fight constantly the comparison between him and Rafael Nadal. Alcaraz had the opportunity to train with Rafael Nadal in February on the occasion of the Australian Open.
Talking about the constant comparisons with the King of Clay, Alcaraz commented:
“I don’t pay any attention to people who have high expectations of me, who say that if I’m going to be the next Nadal. I try to stay out of that kind of comment. I focus on myself, my work and my team.”
Alcaraz would be pleased also to train with Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz Garfia in Marbella, ranking, and results in 2021
Currently the world no.133, Alcaraz Garfia has a compiled 8-6 match record in 2021. Carlos is currently playing in Marbella where he conquered Nikola Milojevic 7-63 6-3.
Carlos Alcaraz Garfia will come up against the world no.64 Feliciano Lopez in the 2nd round. They have never played each other so far on the main tour.

At the moment ranked no.3, the Spaniard played his last match on the 17th of February when he capitulated to world no.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-6 2-6 7-6(4) 6-4 7-5 in the quarter of the Australian Open (draw).
