Coco Gauff needs to be more like Barty and Naomi Osaka and hit less double faults

Cori Gauff has just turned 17 years old and she is already considered the next big thing. However, Coco needs to improve some parts of her game: one of these is the second serve.

During this season, Ashleigh Barty hit 42 double faults in 16 matches (an average of 2.6 per match) and Naomi Osaka made 38 double faults in 30 matches (an average of 2.9 per match). Coco Gauff scored 87 double faults in 15 matches with an average of 5.8 per match.

Most of Coco’s double faults are coming during important moments and therefore they may be very costly. Things might become quite nasty like in the recent semi-final in Adelaide when she lost to Belinda Bencic after committing 12 double faults.

Coco will start her campaign in Charleston against Tsvetana Pironkova. The prediction is the young American winning in three sets.
