Naomi Osaka, Bianca Andreescu and Cori Gauff are probably the most entertaining players of the new generation and they have different ways to deal with their emotions.
Bianca Andreescu has an incredible grit and she is not shy of showing her emotions during her battles. Bianca went through many incredible fights and unfortunately, she is quite used to getting injured when playing matches.
The Canadian sensation was completely heartbroken when she had to retire when facing the world number one Ashleigh Barty in the Miami Open final. Bianca Andreescu rolled her ankle and she was not able anymore to continue the match in the second set. Bianca could not contain her tears when she was on court.
Andreescu about showing emotions
During the press conference after the Miami Open final, Bianca revealed that she doesn’t want to hide her emotions to comment:
“I’m not ashamed to show my emotions, on and off the court, because by doing so I hope to be able to lead by example and show that and one’s emotions do not mean being weak and that there is nothing wrong with doing it.”
Osaka and Gauff and their emotions
Naomi Osaka has also a huge grit and drive when she plays tennis. However, she is completely different than Bianca Andreescu in showing her emotions. Naomi’s background is Japanese and therefore she is not used to expressing her emotions.
Nevertheless, it was fantastic to see how Naomi helped Coco Gauff in dealing with their own emotions when they played at the US Open in 2019. Osaka defeated Coco in straight sets and the young American was quite upset about that. Therefore, Naomi asked Coco to share the on-court interview to let her emotion go.
