The new rankings are out after an exciting Miami Open, and there are some interesting changes. Jannik Sinner and Hubert Hurkacz had a fantastic run in Miami, where they reached the final. Eventually, Hurkacz won the title to go up 21 places in the rankings and be the new world number 16, his career-high. Jannik also gained 8 places in the rankings to be the new world number 23, which is also career-high.
Alexander Zverev had a depressing campaign in South Florida after he lost in the opening match to Emil Ruusuvuori 1-6 6-3 6-1. However, Sascha did overtake Roger Federer in the rankings since the Swiss sensation lost 500 points for not defending his 2019 title.
Korda, Musetti and Ruusuvuori
It’s worth noticing that some exciting upcoming players have reached a career-high ranking after the Miami Open. Sebastian Korda gained 22 places in the rankings to be the new world the number 65. Emil Ruusuvuori went up 8 places to be ranked the number 75. Finally, the other Italian sensation Lorenzo Musetti went up 4 places to be the new world number 90.
