Ashleigh Barty has just won the Miami Open title and she is looking forward to having another fantastic run in Charleston, where she is considered the favorite. The tournament in South Carolina has a great lineup with the presence of the likes of Sofia Kenin, Petra Kvitova and Garbine Muguruza.
Barty’s schedules
Ashleigh didn’t play much in 2020 because of the pandemic. However, she is determined to compete much more this year. The Australian sensation has a great game on clay and therefore she will compete in many tournaments on the dirt this year.
Barty released the following statement:
“I’m excited to get on the green clay in Charleston. We’ll look forward to Europe and get on some red clay in Stuttgart, Madrid, Rome. That’s the plan for us.
Stuttgart is a new tournament for me. Madrid, I love playing there, and obviously, Rome is a beautiful city before we go into Paris.”
Barty’s this record in Charleston
Ashleigh does not have a great record in Charleston. She competed only on two occasions in 2013 (she fell in the first round of the qualifications) and 2018 when she lost in the third round Anastasija Sevastova. (click here for details)
