WTA Rankings: Azarenka overtakes Sharapova as world no.2

We had some interesting movements in the WTA rankings.

Azarenka and Sharapova

Victoria Azarenka may have lost an ugly final against Sam Stosur, but at least the week in Carlsbad helped her to get back to the second position in the rankings. The weird stuff is that now both Vika and Maria Sharapova can’t do much in the following weeks to improve their rankings as both are injured.

Stosur

Sam Stosur is trying to get back to the top of the rankings. Winning in Carlsbadhelp her to get closer to the top 10 (now ranked no,.11).

Petkovic

Andrea Petkovic had also a good move. The German lost in the Citi Open final to Rybarikova, but Washington helped her to gain 14 places to be ranked world no.50.

Razzano

Finally Carlsbad semifinalist, Finally Virgine Razzano climbed 39 places to be ranked world no. 92.
