Known as “Hubi,” Hubert was born in Wrocław (Poland) on the 1 February 1997 to Krzysztof and Zofia Maliszewska-Hurkacz. He has a sister called Nika. There is a lot of tennis blood in Hubert’s family. His mother was a junior tennis champion back in Poland and 2 uncles were tennis players. Also, his grandfather was a volleyball player competing at an international level. Hubert was introduced to tennis by his mother while he was 5 years old. Hubert was inspired by watching Roger Federer on TV.
