Ashleigh Barty and Bianca Vanessa Andreescu are going to clash in the Miami Open final for the first time in their career. It’s worth noticing that Ashley and Bianca have never played each before despite their great success.
Ashleigh and Bianca had a little revenge since some maintain that their ranking is unfair since they didn’t play much in 2020 (or at all) to occupy the top part of the rankings still. Last season Barty decided not to play after play in Doha to spend more time in Australia.
Bianca was sidelined for long because of her knee injury. Then she was supposed to be back to competitions on the occasion of the Miami Open. However, the pandemic struck in to halt Bianca’s comeback. When the competitions were back, Bianca was not ready from a physical point of view as she got another injury (foot).
Fortunately, both Barty and Andreescu are back to their best tennis at the Miami Open, and they are going to race for the title after a great to forthnight.

During a recent interview, Ashleigh commented:
“I haven’t played her before, haven’t hit with her. It’s a fresh one for both of us. Bianca has shown in big tournaments that she’s got the ability to beat the very best, and I know from the little that I have seen that she’s got a way of moving around the court that’s extremely physical.”

Currently ranked no.1, Barty has managed to achieve a compiled 13-2 win-loss record in 2021. Barty is now having a run in Miami where she toppled Kristina Kucova 6-3 4-6 7-5, Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 6-2, Victoria Azarenka 6-1 1-6 6-2, Aryna Sabalenka 6-4 6-75 6-3 and Elina Svitolina 6-3 6-3.
The Australian conquered 1 title in 2021 in Melbourne.

Currently the world no.9, the Canadian achieved a composed 9-2 match record in 2021. Bianca is currently having a run in Miami where she beat Tereza Martincova 7-65 6-2, Amanda Anisimova 7-64 6-72 6-4, Garbine Muguruza 3-6 6-3 6-2, Sara Sorribes Tormo 6-4 3-6 6-3 and Maria Sakkari 7-67 3-6 7-64.
