Bianca Vanessa Andreescu and Amanda Anisimova are going to face off in the 3rd round of the Miami. This will be an extremely interesting match among 2 players that are hugely talented but have been struggling for roughly 1 year and a half for different reasons.
Andreescu’s injuries
After conquering the US Open in 2019, Bianca had to face numerous setbacks. “It’s nice to have another junior player that I grew up with on tour. It’s super nice, but that match was tough. I did lose, and was pretty pissed! I’m a different player, and so is she, so I’ll expect the unexpected.”

Amanda was about to have her breakthrough year in 2019 when she won her maiden title in Bogota’ and she reached the semifinals at the French Open. However, Anisimova had a horrible heartbreak right before the US Open with the sudden death of her father, that was also his coach.
The pandemic stopped Amanda comeback. At the beginning of 2021, Anisimova was ready to play during the Australian summer, but she got infected by the Coronavirus and therefore she missed the chance of playing the first slam of the year and the related tournaments.
