Sofia Kenin, Amanda Anisimova, Sloane Stephens, and Jennifer Brady are the American players to follow on Friday at the Miami Open.
Sofia Kenin
Currently the world no.4 (career-high), Sofia had appendix surgery soon after the Australian Open, where she suffered from a disappointing loss as early as in the 2nd round.
The 22-year-old will face Andrea Petkovic at the Miami Open and she is scheduled to play on the Grandstand at 7 pm.
Kenin played her last match on the 14th of February when she lost to Olivia Gadecki 2-6 7-6(4) 6-4 in the 2nd round in Melbourne (draw).
This season Sofia has a 6-4 match record.
Amanda Anisimova
Currently the world no.32, Amanda will face her compatriot Sloane Stephens in her first match at the Miami Open. They are scheduled to play on the Butch Buchholz court at 3 pm.
The 19-year-old is desperate to play more matches. The second part of her 2019 was cut short by her father’s sudden and tragic death right before the US Open. Amanda was struggling to play enough matches in 2020 because of the pandemic. This year she was prevented from competing in the “Australian summer” as she got infected by the Coronavirus right before going to Melbourne.
Amanda played her last match on the 9th of March when she lost to Garbine Muguruza 6-4 6-2 in the 2nd round in Dubai (draw).
Until now, during this year Amanda owns a compiled 2-1 win-loss record.
Stephens in Miami, ranking, and results in 2021
Ranked no.49, the American has a compiled 1-4 match record in 2021. Sloane has been struggling for long with her results and she managed to win her first match of the year at the Miami Open when she ousted Oceane Dodin 6-76 6-4 6-2.

Jennifer Brady in 2021
Currently ranked no.14, Jennifer played her last match on the 1st of March when she was defeated by Anett Kontaveit 6-1 6-2 in the 1st round in Doha (draw).
She will face Sara Sorribes Tormo in her first match at the Miami Open. She is scheduled to play as the 5ht match on Butch Buchholz (8 pm?)
This season Jennifer has a 9-4 record. Jennifer Brady’s most significant result of the current season was getting to the final at the Australian Open.
