Djokovic’s Serbia Open to feature glorious prize money

The Serbia Open to feature a rather interesting prize money for an ATP250

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has managed to bring an ATP250 in his Serbia finally. In addition, the Serbian legend managed to help his fellow players with a prize money that is extremely good for a tournament of this category. This allowed the tournament to have onboard some top players like Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, Matteo Berrettini, Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils (see entry list).

The Issue with the prize money

Tennis players have been mourning that there are issues with the steep reduction of the prize money on the tour All the activities were geared around more generous retribution that helped the players to have big teams. However, that seems to be not possible (or extremely difficult) during this pandemic.

Denis Shapovalov was extremely vocal about the issue to say that many withdrawals from various tournaments were expected.

The prize money at the Serbia Open

The Serbia Open winner will get as much as €100,225 that is a level that is even higher than the normal level it used to be for these kinds of events before the pandemic. It is also worth noting that following Djokovic’s philosophy, the players that lose early in the tournament will get good retribution. Whoever loses in the first round of the qualifications will get €1,705 and in the second €3,280. If a player crashes out in the first round of the main draw, he will get €6,710.
