Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams are part of 2 different generations but are both hugely inspiring for the black community and the women in general. Nike posted a video to celebrate their effort alongside other top black female athletes. Nike launched the campaign to highlight Black female athletes for the International Women’s Day.
Serena Williams, alongside her sister Venus, hit the headlines hard and strong 2 decades ago when they ‘violently” broke into the scenes of the tennis world showing off a game that was out of this world. Both Serena and Venus had to fight hard to defend the rights of the black community and to empower women.
The Williams inspired Naomi Osaka and her father Leonard Francois took the example of Venus and Serena’s dad to initiate his daughters to tennis. In 2020, Osaka inspired the world for being extremely vocal in defending the rights of the black community also and especially after the horrid killing of George Floyd.
Both Naomi and Serena are expected to come back to the tour from next week for the Miami Open.

Now the world no.2, Naomi played her last match on the 20th of February when she overcame Jennifer Brady 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Australian Open to win her 7th career title.
Currently, during this year Osaka has managed to achieve a composed 10-0 record. The Japanese has won 1 title at the Australian Open.
