Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner will be among the top names that will take part in the upcoming ATP250 in Munich. The tournament will be staged from the 26th of April and the defending champion is Christian Garin that in 2019 defeated Matteo Berrettini in the final 6-1 3-6 7-61.
Talking in a video with the tournament director, Zverev commented: “I am looking forward to the upcoming events, as it will be an exciting season for me. At the age of 16, I played the first time in Munich. I was awarded a wild card and lost to Jürgen Melzer. I always enjoy playing in Germany and hope to win the title here a third time this year.”
Zverev won the event on 2 occasions in 2017 and 2018. he reached the semifinal in 2016 before losing to Dominic Thiem in 3 sets.

At the moment ranked no.7, Alexander achieved a compiled 6-4 win-loss record in 2021. Zverev is playing at the moment in Acapulco where he toppled Carlos Alcaraz Garfia 6-3 6-1.

Ranked world no.32 (career-high), Sinner achieved an overall 9-3 match record in 2021. The Italian is participating in Dubai where he ousted Alexander Bublik 2-6 7-62 6-4 and Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4 3-6 7-5.
Jannik Sinner will fight against Karatsev in the quarter. They have never competed against each other until now in top competitions.
