Daniil Medvedev is getting more and more confident after he snatched the world no.2 rank from Rafael Nadal. The Russian no.1 was schooled by Novak Djokovic during their latest match in the Australian Open final, but now he wants his “revenge” and grab the world no.1 spot from the Serbian legend.
“For sure, I mean it’s a great challenge. The higher you go, I always said that to become No.2 tomorrow, it’s going to be a goal I already achieved, so the next one is No.1 – there is nothing higher than that. Of course for this I feel like you need to win Slams, especially with Rafa and Novak playing,” said Medvedev.
About winning Grand Slams
Daniil has just conquered the ATP250 in Marseille. However, Medvedev is also aware that to be the new world no.1 he needs to win the big titles and with consistency.
