Eugenie Bouchard has just reached the final in Guadalajara to try to have another deep run in Monterrey where she will face Lin Zhu in the 1st round. The former world no.5 looked in great form in Guadalajara, where she stumbled only at the last hurdle at the hand of an inspired Sara Sorribes Tormo that won 6-2 7-5. Genie was obviously upset about the epilogue in her match against the Spaniard to comment:
“I couldn’t find the right balance of being patient and being aggressive. When I was aggressive I was missing too many shots. Then when I was trying to be more conservative, I kind of got sucked into the long rallies. I didn’t quite figure it out today.”
Since Monday, Genie will be ranked no.116 and she seems to be more than ready to break again in the top100.
