Jannik Sinner had the huge opportunity of training with the great Rafael Nadal in Australia for 2 weeks because of Novak Djokovic. According to Jannik Sinner’s coach, Riccardo Piatti, the world no.34 was chosen by Nadal because his game is similar to Djokovic’s. Riccardo was also quite impressed by Nadal’s training and his intensity to say:
“Rafa is a great and humble guy, so respectful, an incredibly hard worker. The training was so intense. Rafa may have chosen us also because Jannik’s game is similar to Djokovic’s.”
Sinner is about to start his run in Dubai where he is seeded no.16. However, according to a top betting company, he is considered as the favorite no.3.
Rafael Nadal in 2021
Currently ranked no.2, Nadal played his last match on the 17th of February when he capitulated to Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-6 2-6 7-6(4) 6-4 7-5 in the quarter of the Australian Open (draw).

Now the world no.34, Jannik played his last match on the 12th of March when he was overcome by Daniil Medvedev 6-2 6-4 in the quarter in Marseille (draw).
At present, during this year the Italian owns an overall 7-3 win-loss record. This year, Sinner clinched 1 title in Melbourne.
