Garbine Muguruza is about to face Barbora Krejcikova in the final in Dubai. The world no.16 is having a great season after she reached the finals in Melbourne and Doha. However, Muguruza is still chasing her 1st title of the season and she would love to get also her 8th tournament.
Talking about winning the tournament in Dubai, Garbine commented:
“Holding the champion’s trophy is everybody’s objective. We play hard in order to play the finals. Maybe they didn’t go my way, the recent finals I’ve played, but at some point it will. To be able to be there is a sign that you’re playing well, and that’s where I want to be.”
Barbora Krejcikova is the last hurdle between Muguruza and her 8th title. They have never played each other so far.

Currently the world no.16, Garbine achieved a 17-4 record in 2021. Garbine is playing at the moment in Dubai where she bested Irina-Camelia Begu 6-3 7-5

At the moment ranked no.63, Krejcikova has managed to achieve an overall 10-4 record in 2021. The Czech is participating in Dubai where she defeated Maria Sakkari 6-2 7-64, Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 6-1, Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3 6-2, Anastasia Potapova 6-0 6-2 and Jil Teichmann 7-5 6-2.
Barbora Krejcikova will fight against Muguruza in the final. In the past, they have never competed against each other till now on the main tour.
