Cori Gauff and Victoria Azarenka are the last 2 casualties of the entry list in Monterrey. Both the former world no.1 and the upcoming American teenager were meant to take part in the event, but eventually they decided to pull out. Both are widely expected to play in Miami

As of now, the top seeds will be Sloane Stephens, Saisai Zheng, Nadia Podoroska and Marie Bouzkova.  The defending is Elina Svitolina that last time defeated Marie Bouzkova 7-5 4-6 6-4 in the final. (see draw)
