This was a perfect tournament for the Italian tennis. It was played in Italy and the final was played by the best representatives of the Italian tennis: Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci. For the delight of the very home crowd the winner was Roberta that is also living in Palermo.

En elated Roberta commented “I live here and practice here at this club, so winning here is fantastic for me. I really didn’t expect to win this tournament, especially with Sara in the final, but I played a really good match.
I’ll probably stay five or six days at home now, then I’m starting my hard-court season in Carlsbad.”
This is Roberta’s second title of the year (she won in Katowice) and the 9th title of her career.
With this win Roberta defeats Sara after losing 5 consecutive matches and brings the head to head record to 3-5.
