Naomi Osaka has recently expressed how important are the upcoming Olympics Games in Tokyo for her. Osaka will probably be the “main” face of the Games this year and she hopes that they will be staged.
According to reports, it seems to be more and more plausible that the Olympics will take place this year. However, it seems that the event will be staged only with Japanese fans as foreigners will not be allowed to attend the Games because of the actual pandemic.
According to the Japanese newspaper Mainichi, the decision had already been made of not having foreigners in the attendance. The Mainichi newspaper cited an unnamed government official saying that “in the current situation it is impossible to bring in foreign spectators.”
“Only” 8,000 people are reported to have lost their life in Japan because of the pandemic. However, it seems that 80% of the Japanese are not in favor of staging the Olympics
this year. In this case, the solution would be either the cancellation of the even is the postponement. Therefore, it seems more and more plausible that if the Olympics will take place the only spectators allowed will be the local ones.
