About Social Media and Instagram
Genie Bouchard had a rather peculiar tennis career. Genie had an amazing 2014 when she reached a world no.5 career-high following the semifinals at the Australian Open and the Roland Garros, and the final in Wimbledon.
Things started to go down and hard in the following years as she was even struggling to stay in the top100. However, Genie Bouchard’s fantastic appearance and her sparkling character helped her to amass a rather big army of followers on social media. Genie has 2.1 million followers on Instagram and 1.6 million on Twitter. Eventually, this huge following became the biggest asset for Genie.
During a recent interview, Genie explained that she is well aware of the importance of social media for her career:
“I can’t pretend that is not a part of my life. I am very aware that I am in the public eye. The first thing any company asks is how many followers I have on social media. It is definitely something on my mind every time. I think it is a great tool. I love engaging with the fans and it can be so direct,” she commented.
“It is a part of my life and I use it like I would anyway with my friends and sisters and a lot of people are going to see this and I can show them what I am doing behind the scenes.”
