RANKINGS. Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams stable in top10. Coco Gauff at career high

Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams didn’t play last week. However, whey still sits in the top10 in the WTA rankings rather comfortably while Cori Gauff reached a career-high.

Currently ranked no.2, Naomi Osaka seems to be destined to regain the first place in the rankings as soon as Ashleigh Barty, the world no.1, will start to drop her points. The WTA had to freeze some points accumulated before the pandemic outbreak and this helped the Australian to stay at the top. This will start to end from the upcoming Miami Open since Ashleigh is the defending champion.

Naomi Osaka played her last match on the 20^th of February when she beat Jennifer Brady 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Australian Open to win her 7^th career title.

Currently, during this year Osaka has managed to achieve a compiled 10-0 record. Osaka clinched 1 title at the Australian Open.

Now the world no.7, Serena Williams didn’t have the run she was hoping for at the recent Australian Open when she lost in the semifinal to Naomi Osaka.

However, reaching the final 4 in Melbourne helped her to be back in the top10.

Serena Williams played her last match on the 18^th of February when she lost to Naomi Osaka 6-3 6-4 in the semifinal of the Australian Open (draw).

At the moment, during this season the American has achieved a 8-1 record. Serena Williams’s best performance of the current season was reaching the semifinal in Melbourne and at the Australian Open.
