Finally, Marion got it!

The talented, quirky and super driven Frenchwoman managed to win her first slam in Wimbledon after a fantastic tournament the final wasn’t one of the finest as both players, especially Lisicki, were battling with the tension, but we are sure Marion is happy about that!

The first set was a walk in the park with Lisicki completely unable to cope with the emotions and to make errors after errors (to be honest that was also caused by a very aggressive Bartoli).

The second set looked to be the same as Sabine had to save four match point when she was serving on a 1-5 scoreline. Then something changed, and the German won 3 straight games to get to a 4-5 scoreline, but eventually, Bartoli won the match after 81 minutes.

From Marion

Maybe one of the “strangest players” to win the Championship, Bartoli had some thoughts about her being unconventional “It’s always been a part of my personality to be different. I think being just like the other one is kind of boring. I really embrace the fact of being a bit different and doing something that not everyone is. I actually love that part of my game, being able to have something different.”

From Sabine

Lisicki had a remarkable tournament to beat Schiavone, Stosur, Serena (!!!) and Radwanska. She just fell at the last hurdle, but she can be happy….just the last match…”I was a bit sad that I couldn’t perform the way I can,” Lisicki commented.
