Bio, father, mother, coach, and boyfriend
Belinda Bencic is 1.75m tall and she was born on 10 March 1997 in Flawil, Switzerland, to Dana and Ivan Bencic. Her parent emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Switzerland back in 1968 to avoid the Warsaw Pact invasion by the Soviet Union.
Both parents were very active in sports. Her father Ivan was a professional hockey player. Her mother Dana used to play handball at a high level. The huge success of Martina Hingis inspired Belinda Bencic’s father. Later Belinda, at the age of 6, went for 6 months at the tennis academy of Nick Bollettieri, where she won various tournaments under-10. Eventually, when she was 7, Belinda Bencic and her parents moved to Wollerau, where Martina Hingis’ mother opened an Academy.
