Novak Djokovic won an incredible 9th title at the Australian Open to collect his 18th slam. The Serbian legend looked quite tired during the ritual photoshoot that took place the day after his triumph at the Rod Laver Arena.
Indeed, this title was extremely taxing for Novak. The world no.1 had to undergo 14 days in quarantine in Adelaide. He was publicly and unfairly slammed for trying to help his colleagues who were struggling with hard confinements in Melbourne. Then the Serbian champion had to cope with a tough abdomen injury that affected the second part of his tournament.
Talking to the journalists when he was strolling on the beach in Melbourne, Novak was asked how he celebrated his title. Novak admitted that he couldn’t sleep well during the night. In addition, he added that he used to go wild and go to discotheques and nightclubs in the past. However, he admitted that now it’s a bit different celebration as he likes to stay with his family and closest people.
His family
Novak is blessed with a wonderful family, and he expressed on many occasions the fact that it’s extremely hard for him to be far away from his wife and children. He is expected to spend a lot of time with them in the next few weeks also in order to recover from his abdominal injury.
He will be more than happy about that.
