Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka share a very nice relationship. Iga and Naomi had a lovely interaction last year during the global lockdown exposing their intriguing personalities during a video call.
Naomi confessed that she was full of emotions and feeling super tense seeing Iga playing and winning the French Open, saying:
“I hate watching tennis when I’m rooting for someone. Why are my muscles tensing up like I’m about to hit the ball? More importantly, whyyyyyyyy are my palms so sweaty????”
When asked about Naomi Osaka winning the Australian Open, Iga seemed to be as happy for her friend conquering the slam to say:
“I also watched finals and, yeah, I’m really happy that Naomi won. I feel like she’s pretty strong right now and that’s her place to be. So it’s great.”
In Melbourne, Swiatek looked extremely strong in her first 3 matches, but later she had to bow to Simona Halep in the 4th round.
Adelaide
Instead of heading straight to the Middle East, Iga for playing yet another tournament in Australia and therefore she opted to play in Adelaide. She will face Madison Brengle in the opening match on Tuesday. The predictions is Swiatek winning in straight sets.

Now ranked no.18, the Pole played her last match on the 14th of February when she surrendered to Simona Halep 3-6 6-1 6-4 in the 4th round of the Australian Open (draw).

Naomi Osaka in 2021
Currently the world no.2, the Japanese played her last match on the 20th of February when she defeated Jennifer Brady 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Australian Open to win her 7th career title.
This season Naomi has a composed 10-0 win-loss record. Naomi has won 1 title at the Australian Open.
