Daniil Medvedev is about to play the Australian Open semifinal against Stefanos Tsitsipas where he is considered the favorite. Here Daniil’s updated biography with also his coach, wife, and his net worth.
Early life, family, wife, coach
Daniil was born on the 11th of February 1996 in Moscow to Sergey Medvedev and Olga Medvedeva. He has 2 older sisters: Julia and Elena. Daniil started to play tennis seriously at the age of 6. Daniil moved to Antibes in the South of France to play tennis and for this reason, he possesses excellent French.
One of Medvedev’s life and career’s key moments was when he married his wife Daria in Moscow on 12 September 2018 after dating for 4 years. Daniil has a strong character and he has always stated that marrying Daria helped him calm down and be more focused.
“She’s one of the most important members of my team. She gave me a lot of confidence. I always say that it’s the moment I made the proposal to her, that’s when I started to go up.
It was at this moment – it was after Wimbledon – I was, I think, 65 or something like this, and at the end of the year, I was already 15,” said Medvedev.
Daniil is coached by Gilles Cervara. Despite having a great relationship with Gilles, Medvedev is used to redirecting his anger against his coach when things get complicated during his matches. During his encounter against Filip Krajinovic at the Australian Open, Gilles had to leave the player’s box to allow Daniil to calm down.
